Pomeranian UK Import
This pedigree page was built for free at SitStay.com Forward by Stefano Scullino http://www.geocities.com/doublessepoms/ Whoever is not familiar
with British Pomeranians, and has a look at the first three generations behind
Ch. Melenbri Sweet Talking Guy, might fail to realize his great potential as a
producer. The first thing evident is that there is a lot of Paddockwood
breeding behind Guy. Paddockwood was a very
well known and successful kennel belonging to Mrs. Esther Moore. Mrs. Moore owes much of her success in
producing lovely poms to her two most influential stud dogs: Paddockwood Grand
Slam and Ch. Hadleigh Summer Lightning. Both males were pure Hadleigh dogs, out
of the legendary kennel of Mrs. Gladys Dyke, possibly the most famous Pomeranian
kennel ever. Though Guy is not out of an inbreeding, he is heavily linebred which gets evident by
going back a few more generations. His sire Tookeys Talk of The Town, has produced many championship show winners. He was a
grandson of Paddockwood Grand Slam, a 100% Hadleigh bred male sired by Hadleigh
Royal Star x Hadleigh Grand Slam and Royal Star
were very influential stud dogs and sired many winners both at home and abroad.
Hadleigh Royal Star, himself the winner of a reserve challenge certificate, was
by Ch. Hadleigh Twinkling Star, a fabulous dog considered by many as one of the
best Hadleigh pom ever bred by Mrs. Dyke. Guy's sire was also a great-grandson
of the fabulous Ch. Derronil's Maxamillion, an outstanding Pomeranian that has
had a super show career culminated in the group first at Crufts. Maxamillion’s parents were
both by two Hadleigh males. His father, Cygal's Gingerbredman at Derronil, was
by Hadleigh Royal Star (by Ch. Hadleigh Twinkling Star). His mother, Cygal's
Sweet'N Lovely, was by Hadleigh Tom Thumb, full brother to Ch. Hadleigh
Twinkling Star. Both Twinkling Star and
Tom Thumb were sired by Ch. Hadleigh Starlight who will undoubtedly be
remembered as a pillar in the history of the breed. He was a wolf/sable who
sired countless winners, including Ch. Hadleigh Supersonic (full brother to
Twinkling Star), Ch. Hadleigh Honey Puff, Ch. Hadleigh Pride of the Stars and
the legendary Ch. Hadleigh Shining Star. Ch. Hadleigh Shining Star
had an incredible career and won more than 30 CCs which made him the breed
record holder in the Summer Lightning was such
an influential stud dog and sired countless winners both for his owners and for
other breeders as Mrs. Moore let him at public stud. This dog is behind Guy no
less than nine times if we go back a few more generations. Also, Guy's sire, Tookeys Talk of the Town, is
twice great-grandfather of Guy's dam. This makes for Ch. Hadleigh Twinkling
Star no less than six times and Ch. Derronil's Maxamillion three times behind
Guy. All in all, we can find
that great producer of Ch. Hadleigh Starlight no less than 25 times in Guy's
pedigree, together with many other top quality British poms of the recent past.
That's what makes a strong linebred pedigree and makes Ch. Melenbri Sweet
Talking Guy such a valuable stud and an asset to any breeding program of high
quality Pomeranians.
